The NFL has suspended Chicago Bears defensive end Montez Sweat for two games due to a violation of the performance-enhancing substances policy, affecting the team's defensive lineup.
The Chicago Bears will be without defensive end Montez Sweat for two games following his suspension by the NFL for violating the performance-enhancing substances policy.
This suspension comes as the Bears prepare to face the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6 and the New England Patriots in Week 7. Sweat, who has recorded two sacks this season, ranks third on the team in that category.
With Sweat sidelined, Austin Booker is expected to step in as his replacement. The Bears' defense, which is currently tied for fifth in the NFL in points allowed per game, may still perform adequately without Sweat, although his absence will be felt.
