Montreal Victoire's Walter Cup Recovered After Shipment Loss
The Montreal Victoire has successfully recovered its Walter Cup championship trophy, which went missing during shipment last week, according to an announcement from the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) on Monday.
The trophy was supposed to arrive in Lethbridge, Alberta, where it was scheduled to be with Victoire forward Dara Greig. Although a container arrived, the one containing the trophy did not. The PWHL expressed gratitude to those who assisted in locating the trophy and acknowledged the support from fans.
Details regarding the trophy's whereabouts during its absence remain unclear, as the league indicated it was lost in shipment. The trophy in question is a replica of the original Walter Cup, designed by Tiffany & Co., and is distinct from the one presented to teams after winning the championship, which is permanently displayed at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.
