Morne Morkel Defends Indian Bowlers Amid West Indies Chase
India's bowling coach Morne Morkel has defended his players as they face challenges in the ongoing white-ball series against West Indies, where the opposition successfully chased down 352 runs in an ODI and 250 in a T20I.
Morkel acknowledged the difficulties posed by dew-laden conditions and the aggressive batting style of West Indies, particularly noting the performance of their captain, Shai Hope, who scored unbeaten centuries in both matches. He emphasized the need for his bowlers to focus on executing their best deliveries despite the tricky circumstances.
The coach also pointed out the impact of a demanding schedule on the players, mentioning that the T20 team had just returned from the Asian Games and faced travel fatigue. Morkel expressed respect for the team's efforts and suggested that allowing players some leeway in their performance could be beneficial.
