MotoGP Announces 2027 Pre-Season Testing Schedule

MotoGP has disclosed its pre-season testing schedule for 2027, which includes a total of six days of testing, with only four days allocated for non-rookie riders.

The testing will commence with a Shakedown test on January 29-30, exclusively for test riders and rookies. This will be followed by the main Sepang test on January 31 and February 1, which will last two days instead of the previous three. After Sepang, teams will have two additional days of testing at Buriram on February 6-7, allowing them to finalize their new 850cc prototypes.

This year, the gap between the Sepang and Buriram tests has been minimized, limiting the time for manufacturers to implement changes based on their findings from the initial tests. The official season launch is scheduled for February 21 in Rio de Janeiro, leading up to the season opener at the Thailand Grand Prix on March 5-7. A one-day test will also take place on December 1 at Circuit Ricardo Tormo following the Valencia finale.
