MotoGP Riders to Showcase Bikes at Austin Grand Prix
During the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix weekend, four MotoGP riders will participate in a high-speed demonstration at the Circuit of the Americas on Saturday. Dani Pedrosa, Nicolo Bulega, Andrea Dovizioso, and Lorenzo Savadori are set to ride from 11:40 a.m. to noon local time on October 24, utilizing a 20-minute window between Formula 1 events.
This demonstration will feature riders representing four different manufacturers: Pedrosa for KTM, Bulega for Ducati, Dovizioso on Yamaha, and Savadori for Aprilia. Each rider has experience with their respective manufacturer in racing, testing, or development, making this event more than just a ceremonial display.
The Circuit of the Americas is known for its challenging layout, which includes a steep climb and a long back straight, allowing for a comparison of performance between MotoGP bikes and Formula 1 cars. While the fastest Formula 1 lap recorded at Austin was significantly quicker than the MotoGP pole, the demonstration aims to highlight the unique characteristics of both types of vehicles without the pressure of competition.
