MotoGP to Move to Adelaide with Safety Assurance for 2027
MotoGP is set to relocate to Adelaide for the 2027 Australian Grand Prix, as confirmed by deputy CEO Carlos Ezpeleta, who highlighted the circuit's safety features.
The Adelaide track, which will take over from Phillip Island, has undergone significant investment and planning to meet MotoGP's safety standards. Ezpeleta reassured fans and riders that the new layout, unveiled recently, is designed to provide ample run-off areas and safety measures.
Despite initial concerns regarding the circuit's proximity to walls, the feedback from riders has been positive after they viewed a simulation of the track. Ezpeleta noted that the Adelaide circuit aims to enhance the racing experience while addressing environmental considerations, including plans to plant ten trees for every one removed during construction.
