Motorist Swerves Into Cyclists and Allegedly Fires Shot in Florida
A disturbing incident occurred in Cutler Bay, Florida, where a motorist was recorded swerving into a group of cyclists and allegedly firing a shot. The event took place on a secondary road about 20 miles south of Miami on Saturday morning.
The video, shared by one of the cyclists, shows the black SUV approaching as the riders, who were riding two abreast, attempted to move aside. Instead of passing, the vehicle veered toward them, prompting one cyclist to hit the passenger-side window. Following this, the cyclists claimed a gunshot was fired from the SUV, although no injuries or property damage were reported.
The cyclists provided local authorities with the bullet, the vehicle's license plate number, and the video evidence. Despite the serious nature of the incident, police have not made any arrests, and it is uncertain if charges will be filed. This confrontation adds to ongoing tensions between cyclists and motorists in the U.S., occurring shortly after a tragic incident in Tennessee where two university students were killed by a driver during a cycling training ride.
