Movsar Evloev Discusses Impact of Stricter Doping Tests on UFC Legends

Movsar Evloev, a top bantamweight contender, has made claims regarding the performance of UFC legends in light of stricter doping regulations. He stated that, aside from Jon Jones, fighters such as Jose Aldo, Anderson Silva, and Anthony Pettis experienced declines after the UFC implemented more rigorous drug-testing protocols.

Evloev noted that prior to 2015, drug testing in the UFC was less stringent, but the partnership with the United States Anti-Doping Agency introduced year-round testing. He argued that while Jones faced multiple doping violations, he maintained a high competitive level, unlike other fighters who struggled post-regulation.

However, Evloev's assertions are complicated by the fact that both Aldo and Pettis never tested positive for banned substances during their careers. Additionally, while Silva's performance did decline after testing positive, attributing this solely to the stricter testing is challenging, given other factors such as age and competition level. Evloev's comments have sparked discussion about the broader implications of doping regulations in the UFC.
