Murray Davis Considered for Brisbane Coaching Role
Murray Davis, the coaching director for Adelaide, is being considered for the head coaching position at Brisbane following Chris Fagan's departure. Brisbane has approached Davis regarding the role, as reported by AFL Media.
Davis previously applied for the Essendon coaching position, where he was a strong candidate but ultimately lost out to Mark McVeigh. He has been with the Crows since 2024, having spent 13 seasons with the Lions in various coaching roles, including during their premiership-winning season.
The Brisbane coaching selection committee, which includes notable figures such as Lions chair Andrew Wellington and AFL legend Leigh Matthews, aims to finalize their choice by the end of October. Davis is competing with other candidates, including West Coast's Adam Simpson, but Cameron Bruce, currently an assistant coach at Brisbane, is considered the leading candidate for the position.
