Murray Davis Withdraws from Brisbane Lions Coaching Contender List
Murray Davis, the coaching director for Adelaide, has confirmed that he will not be a candidate for the senior coaching position at the Brisbane Lions, which became available after Chris Fagan's retirement.
Davis was considered for the role due to his strong connections with the club but has opted not to pursue it. He recently participated in the selection process for the Essendon coaching position, which ultimately went to Mark McVeigh.
The Brisbane Lions' coaching selection committee, which includes notable figures such as chair Andrew Wellington and AFL legend Leigh Matthews, aims to appoint a new coach by the end of October. Current assistant coach Cameron Bruce is seen as the leading candidate, having received Fagan's endorsement for the role.
