In a recent interview, Ali explained that he does not hold a formal title or position related to scouting. He emphasized that his involvement is informal, as he aims to help TNA by suggesting talented wrestlers from the independent circuit for consideration.

As part of his duties, Ali issued an open challenge to wrestlers worldwide during his reign, inviting independent talents to compete for the TNA title. He recently regained the International Championship after defeating Jason Hotch at TNA Lockdown, although he sustained a punctured lung and fractured ribs during the match.
