Mykhailo Mudryk Returns to Chelsea After Doping Case Resolution

Mykhailo Mudryk is set to rejoin Chelsea's squad after resolving his doping case, which has kept him out of competitive matches since November 2024. Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso expressed his happiness about Mudryk's return but emphasized that it is too soon to assess his fitness and readiness for play.

Mudryk's absence was due to a provisional suspension after testing positive for the banned substance meldonium. The Football Association concluded its anti-doping proceedings after Mudryk accepted responsibility for breaching the rules, resulting in a suspension equivalent to the time already served.

Alonso mentioned that Mudryk will join the team on their pre-season tour in Hong Kong, although he has not yet spoken with him. The manager acknowledged the challenges Mudryk faced during his suspension and noted that the player trained independently during this period. Alonso also highlighted that Chelsea has developed a strong squad of wingers, making Mudryk's return a surprising development.
