Mysore Invitation Cup Weekend Features Youth vs. Experience in Thrilling Races

The Mysore Race Club is set to host an exciting weekend featuring five Grade-1 races and one Grade-2 race over 48 hours. This event marks a significant moment for the country's youngest Turf Authority, reminiscent of a similar event in December 2019.

On Saturday, October 24, three Grade-1 races will take place, including the Zavaray Poonawalla Sprinters’ Cup, where the six-year-old champion sprinter Time And Tide aims for a historic third consecutive title. He faces competition from four-year-olds Moneybags, who has a six-race winning streak, and Encino.

The Zavaray S. Poonawalla Mysore Derby will also be featured, with only three of the eleven three-year-olds having experience over 2000 meters. Stud Poker, a previous winner of the Mysore 2000 Guineas, is expected to perform well despite the distance being new to him. In the Zavaray Poonawalla Stayers’ Cup, Red Bishop, the only four-year-old, is a strong contender against seasoned competitors. The races will be broadcast live for free on YouTube and the Mysore Race Club website.
