
Mystics Secure Seventh Consecutive Win Against Mercury
The Washington Mystics achieved a 95-75 victory over the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday, marking their seventh consecutive win. Shakira Austin and Sonia Citron each contributed 19 points to the team's success.
Citron demonstrated an impressive shooting performance, hitting 7-of-9 from the field and 5-of-6 from beyond the arc, along with six assists. Michaela Onyenwere and Cotie McMahon added 13 points each, while Kiki Iriafen scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
The Mercury, now on a three-game losing streak, were led by Kahleah Copper with 15 points, while Noemie Brochant and Alyssa Thomas contributed 13 and 10 points, respectively. Phoenix initially led 21-20 at the end of the first quarter but struggled offensively, making only 12 of 34 shots in the second and third quarters combined. The Mystics will look to continue their winning streak as they prepare for their next game.
