Naftogaz Reports Damage from Recent Russian Strikes
Naftogaz Group, Ukraine's state energy company, reported that its facilities were attacked 13 times by Russian forces over the past week, with nearly 300 strikes recorded since the beginning of the year.
The attacks have caused serious damage to equipment and production capacity, although no employees were injured. The assaults are part of a sustained effort by Russia to undermine Ukraine's energy infrastructure, particularly during the harsh winter months.
In a related incident, DTEK Group, a major player in Ukraine's energy sector, reported a fire at one of its mines due to a Russian strike, resulting in the death of a 52-year-old worker. The ongoing conflict has seen both sides intensifying their aerial operations, with Ukraine increasing its domestic military capabilities and targeting Russian assets far beyond its borders.
