Najee Harris Works Out with Giants as Team Considers Signing
Najee Harris participated in a workout with the New York Giants on Monday as the team considers adding the veteran running back to their roster. Harris is approaching a year since he suffered a torn left Achilles tendon.
The 28-year-old running back played three games for the Los Angeles Chargers last season before his injury occurred during a noncontact play against the Denver Broncos on September 21. Coach John Harbaugh noted that Harris is not yet at full fitness and would require a process to return to game shape.
Harris previously had a successful run with the Pittsburgh Steelers, surpassing 1,000 rushing yards in each of his first four NFL seasons. His workout comes after running back Dante Miller sustained a groin injury in a preseason game against Minnesota, leading to Miller being waived/injured. The Giants are currently evaluating their backfield options, with Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy expected to take on significant roles if Harris is signed.
