Naomi Osaka Reflects on Tennis Future Amid Comeback
Naomi Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam champion, has expressed that she is close to regaining her peak performance, although she is considering her long-term future in tennis. The 29-year-old athlete, who previously held the world number one ranking, has taken significant breaks from the sport for mental health reasons and after the birth of her daughter.
Osaka revealed that she would contemplate quitting tennis if her three-year-old daughter, Shai, requested it. As she prepares for the Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo, she acknowledges that her priorities have shifted with motherhood, stating that her daughter is her main focus. Despite these challenges, she has climbed back to 19th in the world rankings and is the seventh seed in the upcoming tournament.
In her recent performances, Osaka has shown promise, reaching the quarter-finals at Wimbledon and advancing to the last 16 at both the French Open and US Open. She believes she is not far from winning titles again and is eager to continue improving her game.
