NASCAR Ejects Car Chiefs After Inspection Failures at Iowa

The No. 60 RFK Racing Ford and the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford encountered issues during inspections at Iowa Speedway, resulting in penalties for both teams.

Ryan Preece, driving the No. 60, arrived at the event 38 points behind the top 16 in the driver standings. His car failed pre-race inspection twice, leading to the ejection of car chief Jerry Cook and a loss of pit stall selection. Similarly, Todd Gilliland's No. 34 car faced the same penalties, with car chief Joe Marra ejected.

Both teams managed to pass inspection on their third attempt, avoiding further penalties. Preece, who finished fifth at Iowa last year, struggled during practice and qualified 35th, while Gilliland qualified 17th and recently won a $1 million prize for the In-Season Challenge at Indianapolis.
