NASCAR has announced a new end-of-stage policy aimed at reducing caution periods during races, following feedback from fans. This change was not implemented during the recent event at Iowa Speedway but is set to take effect moving forward.

The new rule states that if a caution occurs with 10 laps or fewer remaining in a stage, the stage will conclude at that moment, eliminating the need for additional caution laps. This adjustment is intended to enhance the amount of green-flag racing and minimize delays caused by extended caution periods.

NASCAR CEO Steve O'Donnell noted that the decision was influenced by previous experiences where caution laps extended unnecessarily, leading to frustration among fans and drivers. Several drivers, including Kyle Larson and Ryan Blaney, expressed support for the new policy, highlighting the benefits of reducing caution laps and improving race strategy.
