NASCAR to Return to Naval Base Coronado and Another Military Installation
NASCAR is set to return to Naval Base Coronado in California for a race weekend scheduled from July 30 to August 1, 2027. This marks the second time the NASCAR Cup Series and the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series will race on the military base, following their inaugural event in June 2023.
In addition to the Coronado race, NASCAR has announced plans to hold a race at another U.S. military installation in 2028. The specific location for the 2028 event has not yet been disclosed. NASCAR emphasized its ongoing collaboration with the Department of War to continue hosting events that engage service members and their families.
The previous race weekend at Coronado featured Corey Heim securing his first NASCAR Cup Series victory, while Austin Hill and Layne Riggs won in their respective series.
