NASCAR to Return to Naval Base Coronado in 2027 with New Military Venue in 2028

NASCAR will return to Naval Base Coronado for a race weekend from July 30 to August 1, 2027, featuring the NASCAR Cup and NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series. This event follows a successful previous race held on the 16-turn, 3.4-mile Qualcomm Circuit, which saw Corey Heim secure his first NASCAR Cup victory.

In the earlier race, Austin Hill achieved a notable win for Richard Childress Racing, while Layne Riggs triumphed in the Truck race with a dramatic last-corner maneuver. NASCAR San Diego President Amy Lupo expressed gratitude for the event's success and emphasized the commitment to enhancing the fan experience.

Additionally, NASCAR and the Department of Defense announced plans for a multi-year partnership to host events at various military installations, with another race scheduled for 2028. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth highlighted the initiative's aim to honor military personnel and strengthen community ties through these events.
