Nathan Collins Doubtful for Nations League Due to Calf Injury
Nathan Collins, the captain of the Republic of Ireland, is uncertain for the upcoming Nations League matches due to a calf injury he sustained during a recent game.
Collins was substituted in the second half of Brentford's 1-1 draw against Sunderland last weekend. Brentford's manager, Keith Andrews, confirmed that Collins will not participate in matches before the international break, stating that the defender had attempted to continue playing despite feeling discomfort.
The Republic of Ireland is set to begin their Group B3 campaign against Kosovo on September 24, followed by a match against Israel three days later. They will also host Austria on October 1 and face Israel again at a neutral venue on October 4.
