Nayar Urges India to Tackle Shai Hope Ahead of T20I Decider
Former Indian cricketer Abhishek Nayar has highlighted the importance of dismissing Shai Hope, the captain of the West Indies, ahead of the final T20I match in Bengaluru. Hope has been a standout performer in the ongoing white-ball series, scoring four centuries across three ODIs and four T20Is.
India has struggled in matches where they failed to get Hope out, losing all three encounters in which he scored unbeaten centuries. With the T20I series currently tied at 2-2, Nayar suggested that India needs to devise strategies to dismiss Hope early and limit the West Indies' scoring during the powerplay.
Nayar noted that Hope's impressive performance includes 539 runs in seven innings, making him a crucial player for the West Indies. He advised India to vary their bowling tactics, particularly against deliveries aimed at the stumps, to challenge Hope's scoring ability.
