NBA Opening Night Features Knicks vs. 76ers with LeBron James
The NBA has unveiled its opening night schedule for the 2026-27 season, highlighting a matchup between the New York Knicks and the Philadelphia 76ers, featuring LeBron James.
The game is set for October 20 at Madison Square Garden, where the Knicks will raise their championship banner. This will be James' first regular-season game with the 76ers following his transfer from the Los Angeles Lakers.
The opening night will also include a game between the Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons, and a rematch of the Western Conference Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs. The Sixers, having added James and Jaylen Brown in the offseason, aim to improve after being swept by the Knicks in last season's playoffs.
