NC State Seeks New Coach After Dave Doeren's Departure
NC State has opened its football coaching position after parting ways with Dave Doeren, who had a successful 14-season tenure with a record of 98-73. The decision came after a disappointing loss to Stanford.
Among the potential candidates are former NFL quarterback Philip Rivers, who has been coaching at St. Michael Catholic in Alabama, and Dan Mullen, currently at UNLV. Rivers, whose son Gunner is a top recruit committed to NC State, would be a bold choice despite lacking collegiate coaching experience.
Other candidates include current Memphis coach Mike Huff, who has a strong track record, and Scott Satterfield, who has revitalized Cincinnati after a challenging stint at Louisville. Additionally, coordinators like Glenn Schumann from Georgia and Indiana's defensive coordinator Chad Haines are also being considered as NC State looks to rebuild its program.
