Neeraj Chopra and Rumesh Pathirage Set for Javelin Showdown in Lausanne
Neeraj Chopra and Rumesh Pathirage are scheduled to compete again at the Lausanne Diamond League in Switzerland on August 21, shortly after Pathirage won the Commonwealth Games gold medal in Glasgow.
Pathirage secured the title with a throw of 89.75 meters, while Chopra took silver with a season-best throw of 85.83 meters, marking his second competition since recovering from a lower-back injury. The Lausanne event will feature a strong lineup, including Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem and world champion Keshorn Walcott.
This competition will be Chopra's third since his injury, and he aims to improve upon his recent performances. Pathirage, having achieved a personal best of 92.62 meters earlier this season, looks to solidify his emerging status in the sport.
