Neeraj Chopra Reflects on Challenging Recovery Journey

Neeraj Chopra, the Indian javelin thrower and two-time Olympic medallist, has shared insights into his challenging recovery from injuries over the past ten months. He recently secured a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where he achieved a season's best throw of 85.83m.

Chopra faced significant setbacks due to an adductor muscle injury and other minor issues, which delayed the start of his season. He expressed the emotional toll of training daily without certainty about competing this year. Despite these challenges, he managed to return to competitive form at the Commonwealth Games.

At the Games, Chopra finished behind Sri Lanka's Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage, who threw 89.75m under tough windy conditions. He acknowledged the crucial support from his team, including his physio and coach, emphasizing that his comeback would not have been possible without their belief and assistance.
