Nelly Korda Opts Out of WTGL's Inaugural Season, Expresses Concerns

Nelly Korda, the world’s top-ranked female golfer, has confirmed she will not compete in the inaugural season of the WTGL. Her decision is influenced by her mixed feelings regarding the league's structure, particularly its failure to include both men and women playing together.

Prior to the LPGA’s season-opening Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, Korda expressed surprise that more female players had not voiced similar concerns. She highlighted the missed opportunity for a mixed-gender competition, which she believes could have showcased both male and female golfers on an equal platform.

The WTGL has attracted several prominent players, including Jeeno Thitikul and Lydia Ko, but Korda's absence marks a significant gap. While she initially considered participating, logistical issues and time commitments ultimately led to her decision to withdraw.
