New England Patriots Release Rookie RB Jam Miller

The New England Patriots have waived running back Jam Miller, a rookie from Alabama, as reported by CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz. Miller, selected in the seventh round of the NFL Draft, had a preseason performance that included 11 carries for 36 yards.

Initially projected to be the RB3 on the Patriots' roster, Miller faced a setback due to a minor injury. If he clears waivers, he will become a free agent ahead of the 2026 season. During his college career, he accumulated 1,596 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns, along with 40 receptions for 336 yards and two scores.

Despite some questions regarding his pass-catching abilities, Miller demonstrated toughness as a runner. His final season statistics included 130 carries for 504 yards and three touchdowns. Analysts have noted that while he possesses the size for professional play, his vision and decisiveness may need improvement to succeed at the NFL level.
