New Wave Emerges at Puerto Escondido Following June Swells

A new wave has formed at Puerto Escondido due to significant swells experienced in June. These swells, while typical for the area, were notably larger and longer, leading to the creation of a new sandbar.

This new formation has resulted in fast and hollow waves, described as clean and exciting, although not the largest of the season. Many top big wave surfers flocked to Zicatela to experience this unique setup.

Local surfers and visitors quickly dubbed the new wave 'Sand Slab.' The initial sessions showcased perfect barrels and clean lines, highlighting how the recent swells have reshaped the coastline.
