New Zealand Sets Record T20I Total Against India
New Zealand achieved a historic milestone by scoring 259 for seven against India in the fourth T20I held in Auckland. This total marks the highest ever recorded by any team against India in T20I cricket.
Glenn Phillips led the charge with an impressive 107 runs off 49 balls, while Michael Bracewell contributed significantly with 65 runs from just 25 deliveries. The duo formed a crucial partnership, adding 115 runs for the fifth wicket, which helped New Zealand recover from an early setback.
Phillips' performance not only propelled New Zealand to a record total but also positioned him at the top of the list for the most runs scored in a T20I series against India, with a total of 276 runs. The previous record for the highest total against India was held by England, who scored 257 for three earlier in the same year.
