Newcastle Secures Victory Over Crystal Palace in Premier League Match

Newcastle United achieved a 2-0 victory against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, moving up to eighth place in the Premier League standings.

Goals from William Osula and Harvey Barnes secured the win for Newcastle, although the match highlighted concerns regarding the performance of players like Yoane Wissa and Malick Thiaw, who were benched. Crystal Palace, despite creating more chances, remains in 17th place after their disappointing result.

The match saw Newcastle struggle in the first half but improve significantly after the break, with Osula scoring shortly after halftime and Barnes adding a second goal. Newcastle's defense, while effective in securing a clean sheet, faced scrutiny due to Palace's higher expected goals (xG) of 1.82 compared to Newcastle's 0.95.
