Newcastle Signs Amar Dedic from Benfica for £29.5 Million
Newcastle United has finalized the signing of full-back Amar Dedic from Benfica, making him their sixth addition of the summer transfer window.
The transfer fee is reported to be around £29.5 million. Dedic, primarily a right-back but also capable of playing on the left, is expected to compete for a starting position, particularly with Tino Livramento's injury history and Kieran Trippier's recent move to Wolves.
The 24-year-old has signed a five-year contract and expressed enthusiasm about reuniting with Newcastle manager Matthias Jaissle, with whom he has previously worked at FC Liefering and RB Salzburg. Dedic has represented Bosnia and Herzegovina internationally, earning 31 caps, including participation in the 2026 World Cup.
