Newcastle United Signs Matias Fernandez-Pardo for £51 Million

Newcastle United has finalized the acquisition of Belgium forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo from Lille, completing the deal just before the transfer window closed.

The transfer, valued at €60 million (£51 million) plus add-ons, sees Fernandez-Pardo sign a five-year contract with the club. He is the eighth player to join Newcastle during a transfer window that has seen substantial changes to the squad.

Fernandez-Pardo, who can play in multiple attacking positions, previously scored 12 goals and provided nine assists for Lille, contributing to their third-place finish in Ligue 1 last season. His performances earned him a spot in Belgium's World Cup squad this summer. Newcastle's new head coach, Matthias Jaissle, played a crucial role in attracting Fernandez-Pardo to the club, which has been actively rebuilding its team with young talent.
