Newcastle United Signs Matias Fernandez-Pardo from Lille for £51m
Newcastle United has secured the signing of Matias Fernandez-Pardo from French club Lille in a deal valued at £51 million. The 21-year-old forward has signed a long-term contract and will don the No 20 shirt at St James' Park.
Fernandez-Pardo had a notable season with Lille, scoring eight goals in 41 appearances. He was also included in Belgium's squad for the 2026 World Cup after previously switching his international allegiance from Spain.
This transfer increases Newcastle's summer spending to £262 million. The club views Fernandez-Pardo as a strategic addition, comparable to the recent signing of Nico Gonzalez from Manchester City. His arrival may facilitate a loan move for Nick Woltemade, who is in discussions with Juventus.
