NFL Aims for Regular-Season Game in Tokyo
The NFL is planning to host its inaugural regular-season game in Tokyo, according to Commissioner Roger Goodell. This announcement comes as the league prepares for a nine-game international schedule in 2026.
Goodell expressed optimism about the Tokyo game during an appearance on NFL Daily, indicating that it could happen soon. The NFL has previously held 14 exhibition games in Japan, primarily in Tokyo, but has yet to play a regular-season match there.
This weekend, the NFL will conclude its 2026 international series with a game in Paris, featuring the Steelers against the Saints. Despite recent unrest in the city, the game is still set to proceed. NFL officials are also exploring the possibility of increasing the number of international games to ten by 2027.
