NFL Cancels Fine for Kyle Juszczyk's Celebration
Kyle Juszczyk, a fullback for the San Francisco 49ers, has had his fine from the NFL overturned following an appeal regarding his celebration that mimicked drinking a beer.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the league decided to rescind the fine after Juszczyk argued that the celebration, which he has performed throughout his career, was a reference to his nickname 'Juice' rather than an endorsement of alcohol. The NFL acknowledged that the celebration was intended to simulate drinking a juice box.
In his appeal, Juszczyk also highlighted the inconsistency of the league fining players for such celebrations while accepting sponsorships from beer companies. Another player, Colts guard Matt Goncalves, was fined for a similar celebration, but there has been no update on his situation.
