NFL Clears Zxavian Harris for Free Agency After Eligibility Reversal
The NFL has announced that defensive tackle Zxavian Harris is now eligible to engage with any team as a free agent, reversing its earlier decision regarding his eligibility.
This change was communicated to teams in a memo on Monday, stating that Harris can visit, try out, or sign with teams. He had been deemed ineligible in September after attempting to join the LSU team following a stint with the Saints as an undrafted free agent.
The league clarified that Harris did not participate in college football activities after being waived by the Saints in August. Last season at Ole Miss, he recorded 58 tackles, nine tackles for loss, three sacks, and one interception. Another player, tight end Dae’Quan Wright, who also sought to join LSU, remains ineligible, with no updates on his status provided.
