NFL Committees Approve Sale of Seahawks to Vinod Khosla
The NFL's finance committee and ownership policy committee have unanimously recommended the sale of the Seattle Seahawks to billionaire Vinod Khosla, marking a significant advancement in the purchasing process.
The proposed sale, valued at $9.612 billion, is set for a full ownership vote on August 26. Khosla, who is currently a minority owner of the San Francisco 49ers, will have his wife, Neeru, as the controlling owner of the team.
The Seahawks are being sold by the estate of Paul G. Allen, who passed away in 2018. His sister, Jody Allen, has been managing the team during the sale process. Khosla is required to acquire at least 30 percent of the team without incurring debt, and the ownership group can consist of up to 25 members.
