NFL Fines Browns Players for Touchdown Celebration
The NFL has imposed fines on three players from the Cleveland Browns following a touchdown celebration that appeared to simulate smoking. This incident occurred during a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers when running back Quinshon Judkins scored in the second quarter.
Judkins and quarterback Deshaun Watson were each fined $14,397, while guard Austin Barber received a lesser fine of $6,944. The celebration involved Judkins pretending to smoke and passing an imaginary cigarette to Barber and then to Watson.
This was the only instance of fined celebrations during Week 4. According to a recent joint statement from the NFL and the NFL Players Association, while drinking celebrations are permitted, those depicting smoking or drug use remain against league rules.
