NFL Fines Cowboys and Saints $500K Each for Joint Practice Fights

The NFL has fined the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints $500,000 each following several fights that occurred during their joint practice session on Tuesday in Oxnard, California.

The league emphasized the importance of sportsmanship at joint practices and reminded teams of their responsibility to prevent unsportsmanlike behavior. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones indicated that the team plans to appeal the fine, acknowledging the seriousness of the matter.

During the practice, multiple skirmishes broke out, prompting discussions between the head coaches about potentially ending the session early. Players from both teams engaged in fights, with incidents including punches thrown and a player ejected for losing composure. Jones mentioned that the Cowboys would also impose fines on individual players involved in the altercations.
