NFL Fines Cowboys and Saints $500K Each for Joint Practice Fights
The NFL announced on Thursday that both the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints have been fined $500,000 each due to multiple fights that occurred during a joint practice in Oxnard, California.
The altercations took place during a practice session earlier in the week, leading Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer to emphasize the need for better composure from his team. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones commented on the league's decision, noting the importance of maintaining sportsmanship during joint practices.
In response to the incidents, the NFL had previously circulated a memo reminding teams of their responsibility to prevent unsportsmanlike conduct that could lead to injuries. The Saints are set to play the Los Angeles Rams in a preseason game on Saturday, while the Cowboys will face the Arizona Cardinals.
