NFL Fines Fred Warner for Two Hits During Week 6 Game
The NFL has imposed fines totaling $65,673 on linebacker Fred Warner of the San Francisco 49ers for two infractions during their Week 6 victory over the Washington Commanders.
In the fourth quarter of the game, Warner made helmet-to-helmet contact with tight end Chig Okonkwo while he was making a reception. Although officials initially flagged the play, the penalty was later rescinded. Warner received a fine of $47,762 for hitting a defenseless player and an additional $17,911 for initiating contact with his helmet.
This marks the fourth fine for Warner this season, bringing his total fines to $107,466 for 2026. He is now at risk of a suspension if he receives two more fines for similar infractions. Despite these issues, Warner has had a strong season, recording 58 tackles, three forced fumbles, and three pass breakups in six games.
