NFL Imposes Restrictions on Broadcasters with Team Roles

The NFL has implemented restrictions affecting broadcasters who hold roles with teams, including Troy Aikman, who works for the Dolphins. These limitations are similar to those imposed on Tom Brady, who is an analyst for Fox and owner of the Raiders.

According to NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy, both Aikman and Brady will be allowed to attend production meetings virtually but will not have access to practice facilities. They can conduct interviews with players and football personnel outside team facilities, such as at team hotels, and can broadcast games involving their respective teams.

The NFL maintains that broadcasters should not have direct financial interests in teams, as this could create conflicts. McCarthy noted that there have been no issues with Brady in the past two seasons, emphasizing that it is up to teams to manage the information shared with broadcasters.
