NFL Investigates 49ers Owner Jed York for Conduct Violation

The NFL is examining whether to impose penalties on San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York for a breach of the league's personal conduct policy. This inquiry follows York's arrest during a prostitution sting in Ohio.

York was apprehended by the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force while allegedly attempting to pay $160 for sex. He received a one-day jail sentence, which was credited as time served, and was fined $1,150. The money he attempted to pay was seized and later donated to the task force. Additionally, York completed an online course as part of his plea.

Previously, the NFL has disciplined other owners for similar violations. For instance, Jim Irsay, former owner of the Indianapolis Colts, faced a six-game suspension and a $500,000 fine in 2014. In contrast, Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots, was investigated but not penalized after a 2019 arrest related to a similar incident.
