NFL Owners Approve Sale of Seahawks to Vinod Khosla

On Wednesday, the NFL owners unanimously approved the sale of the Seattle Seahawks to a group led by Vinod Khosla for a record price of $9.612 billion.

This decision follows the passing of former owner Paul Allen nearly eight years ago, who purchased the team in 1997 for $194 million. The team was put on the market after the Super Bowl, amid reports of a $5 million fine for noncompliance with ownership requirements, which the NFL later clarified was deferred in exchange for a commitment to sell the team.

While the sale has not yet officially closed, it is expected to be finalized soon. The Seahawks are set to begin their regular season in two weeks, hosting the Patriots as they unveil their second championship banner.
