A recent analysis has introduced a new metric for evaluating NFL quarterbacks, focusing on the big-time throw-to-turnover-worthy play ratio. This metric aims to provide a clearer picture of a quarterback's performance compared to the traditional touchdown-to-interception ratio.
In the 2025 season, Joe Burrow achieved a remarkable 9.00 ratio, recording 18 big-time throws against only two turnover-worthy plays. His performance was notable for having the lowest turnover-worthy play rate in the league. Other quarterbacks, such as Matthew Stafford and Jalen Hurts, also demonstrated strong performances, with Stafford leading in big-time throws for the season.
This new metric is part of a broader set of over 50 statistics included in the Premium Stats Pro for 2026, aiming to enhance the evaluation of quarterback effectiveness by focusing on playmaking ability and ball security.
