NFL Roster Cuts Deadline Approaches for All Teams
The NFL preseason is nearing its conclusion, with the deadline for roster cuts set for August 30 at 6 p.m. ET. All 32 teams are required to reduce their rosters to 53 players by this time.
This year's cut day falls on a Sunday, a departure from the norm, primarily to accommodate the San Francisco 49ers, who are scheduled to travel to Melbourne for their season opener against the Los Angeles Rams on September 10. This change presents challenges for teams like the Chicago Bears and Tennessee Titans, who will have less than 24 hours to finalize their rosters after their final preseason game on Saturday evening.
As Week 3 of the preseason commenced on Thursday, eight teams have completed their exhibition games, allowing them to focus on the impending roster cuts. It is anticipated that teams playing on Friday or Saturday may also opt to make early cuts.
