NFL Roster Updates: Cowboys Waive Milton, Tunsil on IR, Nabers Uncertain for Week 1

As the NFL season nears, teams are finalizing their rosters following the initial 53-man cutdowns. The Dallas Cowboys have waived quarterback Joe Milton, allowing Sam Howell to serve as the backup to Dak Prescott. This decision comes as the Cowboys also signed running back Emari Demercado.

Milton, who was drafted in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, previously played for both Michigan and Tennessee, completing 64.5% of his passes in his final college season. His future in the NFL remains uncertain as he enters the waiver process.

Meanwhile, the Washington Commanders have placed offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil and defensive lineman Jer’Zhan Newton on injured reserve due to injuries sustained during training camp. Tunsil's recovery from a torn triceps may keep him out for a significant portion of the season. Additionally, New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers is uncertain about his availability for Week 1 as he recovers from a torn ACL.

In other news, the Los Angeles Chargers have signed tight end Patrick Herbert to their practice squad, reuniting him with his brother, quarterback Justin Herbert.
