NFL Training Camp Updates: Bears Face Injury Setback, A.J. Brown Impresses
As NFL training camps progress, injuries are becoming a concern. The Chicago Bears reported that safety Coby Bryant will be sidelined for eight to ten weeks following a knee injury sustained during practice.
Bryant, who joined the Bears this offseason on a three-year, $40 million contract, suffered a hyperextended knee and a small fracture during drills. He was carted off the field, but surgery is not anticipated. In his absence, Cam Lewis and Dillon Thieneman are expected to step up in the safety position.
Meanwhile, New England Patriots wide receiver A.J. Brown played through a dislocated thumb, showcasing his resilience by scoring three touchdowns during practice. His performance is seen as a positive sign for his developing rapport with quarterback Drake Maye. Additionally, Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs and Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson are currently not participating in practice due to contract negotiations.
